Wafir

Originally from Sudan, but now based in Madrid, Wafir is regarded as a virtuoso on the accordion, violin and oud. Wafir was one of the main members of Radio Tarifa, and he is currently a member of the Madrid-based ensemble, La Banda Negra. Though he's a much-in-demand collaborator, his original compositions reflect his Nilotic heritage. —Courtesy Calabash Music
