Square Window

Saxophonist and arranger Chris Bowden of Palmskin Productions received widespread plaudits for his Time Capsule album, described by i-D magazine as a "journey to the centre of the head." His prior collaboration was with 4Hero, and with Square Window, he is working with funky drummer and producer Andrew Missingham, who was the power behind Barungwa. He also organized the legendary jam sessions at James Lavelle's and Gilles Peterson's club, That's How It Is, and made his name as a producer for the Acid Jazz label.

Here they combine with the fresh vocal talent of 17 year old Nomvula Malinga to make music that can be categorized loosely as urban dance with a drum'n'bass sensibility. —Courtesy Calabash Music
