Patricia Marx

Centered mainly in the bustling megalopolis of Sao Paulo, Brazil's dance scene has been bubbling away for the last 15 years and is now at boiling point, ready to explode onto the international stage once again. One of the protagonists of this digital revolution is the beautiful Patricia Marx.

Patricia is no newcomer to music. Though only 27 years old, she has been singing for the last 20 years, initially as a member of the massively successful group, Trem da Alegria, and afterwards as a solo artist, clocking 500,000 in record sales over her career.

With the likes of Bebel Gilberto, having delayed her release of a new CD until just recently, this is an opportunity for Patricia Marx to stake her claim in the nu-Brazilian movement and she does so with great aplomb. This album contains a great blend of soulful vocals, electronica, and even a bit of hip-hop and funk, yet still manages to maintain a balance that one wouldn't expect from such various sources.
