Artist Bio: 

One of the most experienced African-American players of the mbira is also one of the most exciting world beat musicians. Based in Florida, Jomo is an innovator and player of the only chromatic, electric mbira of its kind, based on the ancient African mbira (thumb piano). Jomo performs on traditional mbiras from across the African diaspora. His composition, "Wall of the Wild," was recorded with percussionist master Yaya Diallo. This project contains compositions from traditional Zimbabwe rhythms, R&B, hip-hop, jazz and new age, all with his signature African/Eastern flavor. —Courtesy Calabash Music
