Artist Name: Jobily Weber
Genre: Malagasy Pop
Country: Madagascar

Artist Bio:

Weber Jacques Thierry comes from Madagascar. In 1983, at age 13, he moved to France.

Music is part of Jobily Weber — his artist name, daily life. All his family members play more than one musical instruments. They sing and compose during their leisure, and the Malagasy music had always been present at his home.

Seriously ill, Jobily had been through a difficult patch in hospital, where he started to write songs during his long convalescence. Jobily means "birthday" in Madagascan and it's the hope that he sings as a kind of therapy for him and people who suffer every day.

In September 2005, his first album, which contains 11 Malagsy pop rock singles, came out. —Courtesy Calabash Music
