Artist Bio:
Edene was born on September 7, 1986, in Zimbabwe. She began her musical development at a young age, taking part in school plays and musicals, and was also a member of her school and church choirs. Since writing her first song at the age of 13 and performing it, she has known that she wanted to sing and entertain.
Edene is a talented singer/songwriter and co-producer who plans to take the entertainment industry by storm! She teamed up with several producers, namely Derek Duwayne of Y.A.R. Entertainment and Charles Jangano of Slay Productions, a living musical legend in her native Zimbabwe, to create addictive pop beats like in such songs as "8 Steps" and "If Only," a story about lost love. When asked about her song-writing and the songs on the project, Edene said, "I write from the heart. I follow my emotions and my soul". All the songs were written by Edene.
It is hard to believe Edene has only been in the United States for three short years! Already she is creating a wild buzz around the Dallas music scene, performing in clubs, talent shows, beauty pageants and local TV appearances as well. Initially coming to the States for college, Edene could not escape the calling of her true destiny. She is incredibly passionate about her music, and equally passionate about involving herself in humanitarian work for her native Africa and the rest of the Third World.
"I want the world to experience my music and to share through music the things that we all go through in life and in relationships. In addition, it is my dream to use my success to raise awareness and help children in Third World countries. There is a great need for that."
Her beautiful, sensual voice has been compared to that of the famous Sade. Edene's demeanor and smile has won her tons of fans! She is like no other female artist out there right now; her style is truly her own. In her words, "It's all about the music, and I love music. Rock, hip-hop, jazz, pop, it doesn't matter. I have no preference. I just love good music." So no matter what you may be in the mood for, Edene's surely got it! Courtesy Calabash Music
