Review:
The Malinkés or Mandingo established in 1213 a powerful kingdom in West Africa, extended from Guinea to Algeria as far as Gao on the river Niger. Their homeland was situated in the mountains country to the west of Bamako, Mali. The Malinkés created one of the richest musical tradition in the world history and still today, their beat are loved by music fans. This record by Adama Drame, the percussions master, is tribute to these rythms which came from this glorious past. Released in 1992.
