Review:
LAPIS LAZULI is a delicate blend of poetry written by the legendary lovers and mystics accompanied by music with Oriental and Western influences. The strength of this record is in its immediate dynamism, serenity, energy and vitality that escape the everyday to bring a universal feeling to every man, woman and child in every country. Taken from the most beautiful texts of the ancient manuscripts, the music is nourished by the imagery and the rich tones of Abed Azrie 's voice, that maintain an organic relationship between the sounds and the words. LAPIS LAZULI takes you on a journey to another world altogether, where each note is escorted by a colour, a mood, a memory, a love and a pure vision. The vocal harmonies are sometimes reminiscent of traditional Hindu song: a spiritual and heartfelt prayer in praise of the female form that envelopes the collage of the sound.
