Review:
Andy Brown and the Storm's music tells of a land taking shape, of an existence wrested from the soil, of independence achieved with pride, the sounds of people celebrating with joy and vigour. Its subtlety is the mark of its Southern African identity. In the words of Andy Brown: "Southern African artists have laboured at foreign cliche's for years, which time and time again have made them sound the same. With the coming of the Storm, our audiences and performers no longer kowtow to offerings from abroad. To be just as good is not good enough. The energy has to be released to create something independently."
