Mulatu Astatke
Fikriratchin - New York, Addis, London

As a vibraphone and keyboard player, master arranger and bandleader, Mulatu Astatke is one of the all time greats of Ethiopian music, and the creator of his own original music form, Ethio-jazz. Hot on the heels of his successful collaboration with the Heliocentrics for the Inspiration Information series, Mulatu Astatke again partners with Strut for the first complete overview of his career, which includes many rare tracks. This week’s free track features the vocals of Ras Band member, Menelik Wossenachew.
