Afghanistan
I was on a USO tour. I believe that was second time in Afghanistan. I had been out all day at forward bases on the Afghan-Pakistan border. I was at Khost and Gardez for sure, there might have been a third one. We were on our way back to the Baghram base when I took this photograph. On bad days, the rear of the Chinook
is pulled up most of the way and there's a gunner there. On good days, it is as you see here.
