Yaya Diallo is by tradition, a permanent member of the village of Fienso, in the Republic of Mali. He works to bring traditional African healing arts and music to the Western world, and to the young people of his homeland, serving to keep these arts alive.
Yaya Diallo's debut album, Nangape, an instrumental album of African drumming, balafon and flute music brought recognition to his profound knowledge of traditional African healing arts. Soothing and subtle, the music is tantamount to a therapeutic session. Taken as an ensemble, Nangape forms a five-part meditation. Nangape played a pivotal role in Yaya Diallo's pursuit to revivify the music and traditions of his heritage. Yaya Diallo has acquired an international reputation as a musician, healer, composer, dancer, teacher of music and dance, lecturer, storyteller and author. Courtesy Calabash Music
