Created in 1959, the Ucas Jazz Band is one of the oldest formations in Senegal. Many well known musicians, such as Touré Kunda or Balla Sidibé, have played in this institution.

Ucas Jazz released Casa di Manca, their first CD with an international distribution, in 2003 after nine audio tapes. The band has always promoted the musical culture of Senegal's Casamance region in their work. —Courtesy Calabash Music
