Samia Mahbub Ahmad finds her musical roots in two decades of Hindustani classical vocal training. She draws her inspiration from the guidance and support of her gurus, Vidhushi Sumitra Guha from India and Sri Tapan Kanti Baidya from Bangladesh.
Samia has performed in Bangladesh, India, South Africa and the U.S.A. and has received awards and recognitions. While residing in South Africa she worked with one of South Africa's premier musicians, Ismail "Pops" Mohamed, to produce Braids, an album that marries the sounds of traditional African instruments with the depth of Hindustani vocals.
