Romano Zanotti was born in 1934 in Vallo della Luciania in the province of Salerno. After completing his studies in an arts high school and later at the Academy of Fine Art in Rome, he moved to Paris in 1957 where he studied the traditional music of Latin America. In the same year he joined Francisco Marin's group, Los Guaranis and went on to found Los Machucambos. Alongside all these activities he also recorded several albums of canzone Napoletana, his first great love, between 1957 and 1974. Courtesy Calabash Music
