Michel Macias comes from Gascogne with music that sticks to him like a skin. He plays in excited exchanges with his guitarist brother. His accordion playing has a virtuosity and an instinctive knowledge like the sense of smell and tact of a sheepdog. Between the hands of Michel Macias, the accordion reveals an infinite richness. Whether it originates from the Balkans, the Antilles, Paris, or the Basque country, accordion music is based in a melody forged in Gascogne and revivified by melody improvisation.
