In Koutiala, a small town in Mali, everyone knows the Diabate family and the acoustic group of musicians formed by brothers Modibo and Abdoulaye Diabate.
Not a night goes by without Abdoulaye holding court with friends, and his group regularly animates the open-air bar with music.
The two balafons are in the center of everything, along with two percussionists, a player of tamas and another on djembe. An acoustic guitar creates melodies from both bambara and senufo tradition.
