Carlos Darci Rezende de Seixas is a primary force of Brazilian music in New York City and is partly responsible for reviving a musical tradition that had been asleep since the time of bossa nova in the '60s and '70s.
During the last ten years in NYC, Darci has pioneered a revival of the rich traditions of Brazilian music that are so varied in flavor and forms of expression, including samba, funk, bossa nova, axe, soul and carnival music. As the bandleader and musical director of Brazooca Band -regarded by many as the best representation of Brazilian music in the US today Darci has kept New York City moving to the sounds and rhythms of Brazilian music. Darci does it all by directing musicians, arranging, composing, playing the trombone, the guitar, the cuica, percussion instruments, and interpreting the musical roots in a unique and creative way that is all his own.
