Some of Sweden's best jazz musicians were commissioned to arrange Swedish folk music for a radio broadcast in 1965. Bengt Hallberg, Jan Johansson, Georg Riedel and Bengt-Arne Wallin were given access, in the sound archives of Swedish Radio, to unique folk music recordings, many of which they made direct use of in their own music. The results are unique and offer a look at where some of the folk ensembles like Filarfolket were going to be heading a decade from then. These original recordings retain all of the original freshness of this historic broadcast.
