Famous as a fantastic live performer and highly emotional voice in Algeria and in the Franco-Algerian community. He's known as "The Boy George of raï music." Musically, Abdou often pays a tribute to cheikhates, delicate women-mistresses of traditional raï who sing about love and sex. The world of Abou is often as shifty as it is good-natured. It's all about Oran discotheques, protitutes and new rich people, beggars, showing-off. Courtesy Calabash Music
