Cambodian Psych Rockers Return With "Bang Bang - I'm Afraid of Love"

Each week Nat Geo Music scours the far corners of the internet to bring you the coolest new music videos from around the globe.

This week we turn to our old friends The Cambodian Space Project - who avid readers will remember rocked Nat Geo Music's 2011 event at SXSW - for a brand new video for their song "Bang Bang, I'm Afraid of Love".

For those unfamiliar with The Cambodian Space Project, the band formed back in 2009 when, according to the band's official bio "Julien Poulson, an Australian musician and film producer, was in Phnom Penh looking for Cambodian musicians to work with. He stumbled across lead vocalist Srey Thy singing in a karaoke bar and was instantly taken with her. A couple of months later she was part of a band and The Cambodian Space Project was born".

Since then the CSP's blend of vintage surf, psych and Cambodian pop sounds have earned them favorable comparisons to Long Beach, CA's Dengue Fever and other group's mining retro-South East Asian sounds.

The band's latest video, "Bang Bang - I'm Afraid of Love" was filmed in Macau by K.M. Lo, with stills and montage by Julien Poulson. The song was recorded at CLA Studios Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and is available on limited vinyl on Metal Postcard Records on July 1st, 2012.

Enjoy!
