Nat Geo Music Announces Lineup For SXSW Showcase

Grupo Fantasma, Toubab Krewe, Sway Machinery, Khaira Arby And More On Tap At Habana Calle 6

It's official - Nat Geo Music will be presenting our second annual showcase at this year's SXSW Festival in Austin, TX.

This year's showcase will be held on Saturday, March 19th at Habana Bar Backyard (709 East 6th Street
Austin, TX) and will feature eleven live acts and DJ sets on two stages, beginning at 8.00 pm.

In keeping with Nat Geo Music's mission of presenting the best in contemporary world music and modern global sounds, we've lined up a diverse, genre-defying roster that includes some old favorites and some new discoveries from around the world.

On tap will be Austin's own GRAMMY-winning hometown heroes Grupo Fantasma; North Carolina's homegrown afropop sensation Toubab Krewe, Australian roots-rock-reggae rabblerousers Blue King Brown, Brooklyn indie supergroup Sway Machinery, Malian desert diva Khaira Arby, and Southeast Asian psychrockers Cambodian Space Project.

Global hip-hop will be represented by Toronto-via-BedStuy electro-rapper Rocky Business, Dutch rapper Skiggy Rapz, and the DJ Vadim-led Electric Sound Company project. And in addition to the live acts, there will be DJ sets from San Francisco's Chief Boima and Uproot Andy from NYC's Dutty Artz collective.

And that's only who we've confirmed so far... check back in with Nat Geo Music for additional information and updates between now and March 19th.
