Lee "Scratch" Perry is one of the most influential people in the development of reggae and dub music in Jamaica. As a songwriter, a performer and producer, "The Mighty Upsetter" has been at the forefront of reggae music since the late 50's ska movement.

Practically the inventor of the "scratch" turntable effect used by DJ's, Perry's studio innovations have influenced not only reggae but also rock, punk, pop and dance music. Yet, at 70 years old, Perry's album Panic in Babylon, recently released on Narnack Records with a bonus disc of remixes by TV on the Radio and DJ Spooky, proves to be more relevant than ever.

In June, 2007 the Jamaican legend returns to the East Coast. The current itinerary runs from June 8–16 starting at The Middle East in Boston and heading through Burlington, Philadelphia, New York City and Connecticut. New York-based band Dub Is a Weapon, which has served as backing band for Perry when he tours the U.S., will resume its duties for this tour.

A second, West Coast leg of the tour has been added for August, and will feature an appearance at California's prestigious Reggae on the River festival.
