Green Apple Festival Announces '07 Lineup
Over 200 Performances Planned For New York, Chicago, San Francisco
by Tom PryorThe Green Apple Festival, which bills itself as "America's largest Earth Day celebration" will return to New York, Chicago and San Francisco this year with over 200 live performances in over 60 seperate venues over the weekend of April 20th-22nd.
The events, which use music to highlight enviornmental awareness and carbon-reduction issues, will culminate in a free concert in each city. Bob Weir and Stephen Marley (pictured) will headline at San Francisco's Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park; Umphreys McGee and The Disco Biscuits will headline at Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo; and New York's Central Park will host Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could.
In keeping with the festival's mission of "raising environmental awareness by combining live musical performances from diverse genres with educational outreach and cultural events suitable for all audiences," Green Apple will also be offering "Easy Ways to Go Green" instruction and children's workshops.
