Geo Sessions: Seu Jorge
The Brazilian-born singer songwriter brings his mellow, samba-influenced songs for an intimate, unique episode of Geo Sessions.
Seu Jorge, a Brazilian-born singer songwriter brings his mellow, samba-influenced songs for an intimate, unique episode of Geo Sessions. Raised in the slums of Rio's Belford Roxo favela as a self described 'weirdo,' Jorge used the guitar as a means of expression. Jorge gained fame internationally as Knockout Ned in Fernando Mereilles' acclaimed film City of God, and then as Pele Dos Santos in Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, spinning David Bowie's glam-rock classics as restrained bossa nova. In this episode of Geo Sessions, it is just Jorge and his guitar - but he brings a fire to the spoken word epic "Ze Do Caroco," and a melancholy longing to love songs "Una Mujer" and "Tive Razao". All in all, it's not to be missed.
