Femi Kuti, son of the late, great Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, recently announced plans for a multi-city North American tour this summer. The tour will kick off on July 2nd in Milwaukee, WI and include 23 dates in the U.S. in Canada before wrapping up on August 3rd in Chicago at the Lollapalooza festival.

The tour will coincide with the release of a new retrospective, The Definitive Collection: Femi Kuti (Wrasse), which draws on all three of Femi's albums and includes tracks from hsi rare, self-titled debut. The tour also commemorates the 10th anniversary of Fela Kuti's death, from AIDs-related complications, on August 2nd, 1997.
