Spanish singer/songwriter DePedro announced plans for his first solo North American tour, scheduled to kick off in Denver, CO on October 6th.

DePedro, a.k.a. Jairo Zavala, is touring in support of his new, self-titled album, released on the Nat Geo Music label in August, 2009. Produced with the help of Calexico's Joey Burns, DePedro bears the stamp of Zavala's extensive work with Calexico, as both a touring guitarist and sometime songwriter for the Tucson, AZ band. With duets by Burns, and with Calexico working as his backing band on much of DePedro, Zavala is able to expand on his particular vision, combining his own, varied influences with a distinctly North American border sound.

And while Zavala has toured the world with DePedro, this fourteen city, fifteen-date tour marks his first North American solo adventure, taking in both coasts and lots in between; including the Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco, and two stops in Canada.
