Israel's Coolooloosh Return To NYC

Hip-Hop Funketeers Bring The Party Back To Joe's Pub

Israeli hip-hop funk party band Cooloolosh cap off a whirlwhind North American tour with an appearance at NYC venue Joe's Pub on Thursday, 7/23.

For the uninitiated, Coolooloosh is a Jerusalem-based five piece consisting of Yuval Gerstein (Guitar and Vocal), Rebel Sun (MC), Ori Winokur (Bass and vocal), Yogev Shitrit (Drums), Arik Levy (Saxophones) and Sefi Zisling (Trumpet). The band takes its name from a a Jerusalemite word for celebration and joy, and their sound is a distinctly Israeli blend of Hip Hop, Rap, Jazz, and Funk.

Coolooloosh is currently touring in support of their recently-released album Elements Of Sound, which features performances from soul legend Bunny Sigler and percussionist Pablo Batista. Their current tour includes dates at the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Cow Palace in San Francisco.
