Review:
Jean Paul Samputu, a brilliant singer, songwriter and musician, is a tireless worker for peace and reconciliation. His life and music changed forever when the tregedy of genocide struck Rwanda in 1994. During this terrible period when almost one million Rwandan people were killed, Samputu lost his mother and father, three brothers and a sister.'Tesitimony from Rwanda' is his first acoustic recording. Blending many styles and traditions from Rwanda and other parts of Africa, Samputu's music testifies to the tragedy, as well as to his hopes for the future. — CalabashMusic.com |
