Review:
King4Peace presents his new album "I'n'I" with International singers such as Estha (Cameroun), Here Nui (French Polynesia), Sahara (Lybia), Shaolin and Mina (Japan), Princess Minamon (Benin), Catherine B (France) King4Peace is delivering us with " I'n'I ", a planetary electro-roots sounding album, with gospel and soul voices going along with electronic beats : a range of songs in French, English, Japanese, Polynesian and Fon (Benin) with original sounds that King4pe@ce captured during his trip across the 5 continents. A work to pledge l'@rt-Evolution, meaning reunifying humankind in Africa for peace. Electronic music answers like an echo to voices and original sounds recorded everywhere on the planet with a drum'n'bass back rythm. Every title is telling us a story of the global his/her story with a very striking sound and universe. From Estha's warm soul voice on "One Human Race" and a capella in "So close", to the melodic performances of Okinawa Japanese artists, Mina and Shaolin, to politically conscious sounds such as "Bouge ton corps", "Burning Bush" from the Lybian singer Sahara who is the first ever woman to sing & interpret the Coran, or l"'Art Evolution" with samples from the Zapatists. There is even a magnificent punk influence in the title "Now Future" interpreted by Princess Minamon from Benin. We go through several planetary landscapes: the hyenas from Addis Abeba on the title "Ze end of his story", the devastated beaches of South Asia on the title "Tsunami", Polynesia through original intrumental sounds in "Pacific spirit" and Africa ("Planet Generation Global Groove"). " I'n'I " is a jamaican expression that means "the one who speaks for the community" like in the traditional PowWow of native Indians. For king4pe@ce, the community now is the humankind in real time. His album should bring some conscious spirits on the dance floors — CalabashMusic.com |
