This volume of Ethiopiques (the 21th) is dedicated to a pianist. Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou is the daughter of Kèntiba Guèbrou one of the first intellectual of modern Ethiopia. She studied in Europe. She wanted to be a pianist and composer but the music is not much considered in Ethiopia and she must forget her dream. After a life in religion, she issued four records to help caricative actions. Her music, a piano which could be hear as occidental is full of Ethiopian music and vibes. It's why she's completely at the right place in the Ethiopiques series. Released in 2005.
