Carlito - The Electric Sound Of Johnny Arrow

Cochemea is one of NYC's most sought after sax players. He's currently a touring member of Sharon Jones' band, The Dap-Kings and has played with Paul Simon, Public Enemy, Antibalas, The Roots and many others and he sites the sounds of Eddie Harris electric saxophone as a major influence on his work. For his debut album, he teamed up with Adam Dorn (aka Mocean Worker) to coproduce The Electric Sound Of Johnny Arrow. The album delivers a nice mix of afro-centric jazz, soul and boogaloo. This week's free song of the week "Carlito" is a tasty piece of latin jazz, and gives a great introduction to Cochemea's solo sound.
